The Theory and Practice of Minor Illness Management in Primary Care (Online Delivery)

Six month course run by the Oxfordshire Training Hub – RCN Accredited

Course Details

This course provides a comprehensive preparation for the experienced nurse, paramedic and pharmacist working in primary care to provide a minor illness service within that environment.

The course consists of 5 study days, 1 day of exams and a minimum of 36 recorded clinical training hours, met through work with an appropriately trained mentor in their own practice.

It will equip qualified nurses with the knowledge and skills to run Minor Illness Clinic’s in the Primary Care setting. This course also helps to raise the awareness of minor illness self-care to their patient group as well as working safely within PGDs and protocols. Ideally the Nurse, Paramedic or Pharmacist will either have an Independent Prescribing Qualification or be thinking about working towards obtaining one in the future as both qualifications enable them to work more autonomously and at a more advanced level in the future.
